Lita Nelsen retired last year as director of the MIT Technology Licensing Office, after 30 years in the TLO. She is a former president of the Association of University Technology Managers and is widely published in the field of technology transfer. She has won a number of awards for her work in the field, including a UK award as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her work in UK tech transfer, including the co-founding of Praxis, the (non-profit) UK technology transfer training company--now Praxis UNICO.
She has a BS and MS from MIT in chemical engineering, and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT (Sloan Fellow). She worked in membrane transport and artificial kidney development prior to joining the MIT TLO. She is currently consulting in technology transfer.
