Dr. Carlo Yuvienco is a Vice President of Life Sciences at NYCEDC, dedicated to the strategy efforts behind LifeSci NYC, the Mayor’s ten-year, $500 million commitment to the sector. Since joining in January 2016, he has managed a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and entrepreneurial training programs, including the Applied R&D Facilities program, the Early-Stage Life Sciences Fund, NYC Entrepreneurship Lab, SBIR Impact NYC, and Harlem Biospace. Prior to this role, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship at NYU, focusing on the commercialization of protein-based drug delivery platforms. As a PhD candidate at NYU, he pursued entrepreneurial opportunities in biotechnology and education technology. Having been a part-time K-12 science and robotics teacher during his graduate studies, Carlo is also passionate about advancing K-12 STEM education throughout the five boroughs. For several years before his doctorate in biomedical engineering, Carlo developed blood filtration technologies with Pall Corporation Life Sciences. He also holds a BE in Chemical Engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science & Art.
